Sir Stephen Fry talks up Norfolk and all it has to offer
Norfolk is "a place to live and work in like no other" - that was the message delivered by Sir Stephen Fry as he joined our guests, virtually, at the Extraordinary Norfolk Showcase.
On Thursday 29 January, the Norfolk Business Board welcomed more than 100 invited guests from within the county and as far afield as Quebec to the Norwich Research Park.
The aim - to demonstrate that world-class businesses are based right here in Norfolk, and that with serious government backing and long-term commitment, this county can unleash its full potential to deliver even more for the UK economy, our communities and for future generations.
Backing the event, we heard from one of Norfolk's most recognisable faces and voices, Sir Stephen Fry. His love for and longstanding connection with our county is well-documented, and we were thrilled to attract Sir Stephen's endorsement and to share his supportive message on the day.
After Councillor Fabian Eagle made his opening address, the video clip was shown to guests with Sir Stephen stating that Norfolk has a special and unique quality amongst the business community, which enables organisations to get on in an "innovative and creative way".
We are very thankful that we have permission to share it with you here, so even more people can listen to why Sir Stephen firmly believes Norfolk is such an extraordinary place to live, work and do business.
As Sir Stephen says, we are a county where there is a "willingness amongst its people to be original" and "a place that has a great deal to offer."
